การใช้ a few, few, a little, and little

Few แปลว่า 2-3 หรือ เล็กน้่อย

Little แปลว่า เล็กน้อย

มาดูตารางข้างล่างนี้ดูกันนะ

Positive ที่ว่าหมายถึง ถ้าเนื้อหาที่พูดถึงเป็นแง่บวก ก็ให้ใช้ A few หรือ A little

Negative ที่ว่าหมายถึง ถ้าเนื้อหาที่พูดถึงเป็นแง่ลบ ก็ให้ใช้ few หรือ little

เช่น

She has been here only three days, but she has already made a few friends. (+)
เธอมาอยู่ ที่นี่เพียงแค่ 3 วันแต่เธอก็มีเพื่อนได้สองสามคนแล้ว [ถึงว่าเก่งนะ]

A little sunshine is better than none. (+)
แสงแดดเพียงเล็กน้อย ก็ยังดีกว่าไม่มีเลย

I feel sorry for her. She has very few friends. (-)
ฉันรู้สึกสียใจแทนเธอ เธอมีเพื่อนน้อยมากๆ

I have very little money and I don’t have enough money to go home. (-)
ฉันมีเงินอยู่น้อยมาก และมันก็ไม่พอที่จะกลับบ้าน
